Kennisha Simmons, LMT is an Illinois Licensed Massage Therapist, alumnus of the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois and is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Kennisha also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Shaw University where she was amongst the top of her class, member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society, and received the National Collegiate Scholar Award. Her unique style integrates training in several Western and Eastern modalities, fusing clinically based myofascial release and powerful deep tissue techniques with calming Swedish flow. Kennisha tailors every massage to meet the specific needs of each patient, facilitating an opportunity for positive physical, mental, and emotional healing.
Kara Plante, LMTLicensed and Insured Massage Therapist
Kara Plante, LMT is a fully licensed and insured massage therapist in the state of Illinois. She uses soft tissue manipulation, deep tissue techniques, joint mobilization and stretching techniques to reduce pain and hypertonicity, as well as promote relaxation in clients who have experienced a wide variety of injuries or any serious condition (e.g. headaches, whiplash, strains, sprains, carpal tunnel syndrome, postural deviations.) Kara also adeptly develops plans for continued treatment of clients and recommends self-care between massage appointments. Kara is comfortable treating athletes and performing sports massages. She has volunteered for several years during Chicago marathons with Ronald McDonald House providing stretching and massage for the runners at the finish line. Kara is also a birth and postpartum doula; providing coaching and massage and encouragement during a woman’s transition into motherhood.
Her personal interests include baking, jogging off everything she just baked, and being an awesome aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.
Crystal Wells, LMTLicensed Massage Therapist
Crystal Wells, LMT is a Licensed Massage Therapist who graduated from Cortiva Institute in 2013. Following matriculation, she volunteered with the UIC Track and Field team which is where she developed the love for clinical and rehabilitative massage. Crystal prides herself on assessing the body as a whole to tailor therapeutic massage treatment plans that address the pain and target the root of the problem, to not only alleviate the pain, but keep the problem from reoccurring. She does this by using a variety of techniques such as trigger point release, myofascial release, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching. In particular Crystal loves deep tissue therapies, but has control over her pressure, and can also give an amazing Swedish massage.
